The whole emphasis on typos as a measure of quality is rather misplaced.
When I was reading resumes, I was far too busy to line-edit them. I read
them in a user mode, not an editor mode, which was a better indication
of writing ability.
"Does the document present the information I need, in a way that avoids
making me hunt for it or annoying me?" That's my question.
Excessive typos could, in theory, make the answer "no." In practice, the
resumes with lots of obvious mistakes had plenty of other strikes
against them.
Far too many technical documents, including resumes, are letter-perfect
but page-trash.
A manual with the right information beats a manual with all the words
spelled right.
