The comment about going over resumes line-by-line looking for errors
was a good one. I don't think I'd have that kind of time either--and
really I have to say it wouldn't occur to me to do it.
My general rule of thumb in evaluating publications and people is
that if I notice a typo--that's bad. If I read something and think it's
OK, but then go back and examine it and find errors--that's not
especially relevant because if I didn't _notice_ the error then the
error effectively hadn't been made in the first place. I made the error
in not noticing it the first read-through.
Two errors have made a right, I guess.
Of course, the jeopardy comes when a third person reads the text,
notices the error the first time through--then the previous readers look
bad. So, for that reason if nothing else, we need to concentrate on
being correct the first time and reading correctly the first time too.
