At my former company, we used the same definitions, although I think that
cautions also included practices that could result in a loss of data.
I found a reference to an ISO standard for graphical symbols:
ISO/IEC 11714-1:1996
Design of graphical symbols for use in the technical documentation of products

That might have some symbols you could use. Look at http://www.iso.ch for
details on obtaining standards.
