Hi Folks,

Thanks for the replies I got. Most suggested I use the MSLine Draw font
in Windows. While this produces a vague representation of the
screen, it still is not satisfactory.

After proving I can do exactly what I wanted to do in MS Word,
I queried Frame Support.

Their reply:

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to receive the desired results in
FrameMaker. You do have the ability to open 'maker.ini' which is
located in the FrameMaker home directory and change the
TextCharacterEncoding=OEM as opposed to ANSI. Be sure to open 'maker.ini'
in a text editor while FrameMaker is closed.

When you open Bvc as a text file, the results are a little better.

The best workaround to your problem is to open the text files in WordPad then
copy/paste the screens into FrameMaker as a graphic. To do this within
FrameMaker select Edit/Paste Special and select 'Metafile'.

I have provided your sample files to Engineering for testing with
future products.

Again, Frame has tatally dumfounded me. As a devoted FrameMaker user
for the past six years, I am a bit disappointed. However, I am
confident that they will eventually come up with a solution. Of course,
how many DOS-based applications are there out there that need
documenting?

So, again thanks for your help. It is nice to belong to a group who
all seem to work together.
