I have worked for very few companies as great as JDTV in Arlington,
Texas. They hired me to do a small CD jewelbox-sized manual, projected
to be about 16 pages. Database software.
I undertook this small job without even a contract. Agreed to do it at
home on an hourly basis with an estimated total number of
hours--adjustable by mutual agreement if there's a scope change. They
didn't ask for any kind of audit on my time; wanted to see the first
three pages before continuing, because they didn't know my work.
I took the first three pages in with an invoice for a few hundred
dollars. Got an INSTANT check (good one, too).
Just delivered the remainder with an invoice. Came home with the
balance of the money and a request to do another manual.
Hope the relationship continues.
All you vultures stay away from Arlington!
