CoreVision (1.800.537.3130) has just released a new Pat Heim
video entitled "Conflict: The Rules of Engagement". I just watched it
last night and it was terrific! She really provides some useful
strategies for handling and defusing conflict, such as not getting
defensive, zipping the lip and engaging in active listening, looking at
the conflict through the other person's eyes, she introduces a concept
called "Chip Management". This is the art of learning what others value
and building up a stockpile of chips (brownie points) and the value that
can have for you and what happens if you don't engage in this
cooperative behavior. Heim has such an interesting and entertaining way
of explaining things that it is a pleasure to watch her videos. I always
come away with a fresh perspective and new strategies.
