Thanks to everyone who responded to my question on opening Ventura files
in other apps. It sounds like there are a couple possibilities, but that
none are fool-proof or seamless, and all require some tweaking.
Truthfully, this was what I wanted to hear, because I really don't want
this person to be able to do stuff with my Ventura files. (Long story
involving office politics, among other things.)

I know I can distill the Ventura chapters into PDF files, from which
this person can cut and paste text. I also know I can provide this
person with the text files and graphics files from the Ventura chapters,
from which the person can reassemble the document in another
application. What I'm actually hoping for, however, is a modicum of
control over this project -- for this person to provide the draft, in
Word perhaps, and for me to lay it out in Ventura and edit it. (This
person has no background in writing or DTP, and it's pretty obvious.)

Thanks again, everyone, and wish me luck as I enter the fray. . .
