I need to add 10-20 illustrations to a technical manual in WP 6.1
running under Windows '95. I would like to import sections of graphics
prepared using AutoCAD (I'm not sure of the version) and to add textual
labels with arrows pointing to the appropriate components within the
figures. The graphics have been saved for me in .WMF format. I was
successful in importing the first of these graphics but am being frustrated
in my attempts to rework it. I would like the imported graphic to take up
the center portion of a page-sized graphics box, with the labels and arrows
pointing from the surrounding white space. Unfortunately, the WP Draw 3.0
display window seems to be far from WYSIWYG; both sizes and proportions
seem not to correspond with what actually prints. Selecting "Size" from
the QuickMenu doesn't allow direct control of image size but of the frame
and border size instead. It doesn't help that my source graphic seems to be
composed of perhaps 20 different objects, whereas I would like it to behave
just as one.

If any of you consider yourselves knowledgeable about WP Draw, I'd
appreciate your insights regarding 1) how to get meaningful visual feedback
regarding object size and location and 2) if there's any way of combining
multiple objects into a single object.
Please reply directly to me either if you have tips or if you are also
interested in answers (I am on Digest). If there seems to be sufficient
interest, I can summarize for the list. Thanks in advance.

Technically,
Richard Feldman
