We're looking for a highly experienced technical author to document
UNIFACE and associated products. The position is permanent, and based
in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. We're moving to a media-independent,
SGML-based single-source authoring environment. This position is most
suited to a strong team-player who is comfortable with operating
independently, and is able to switch focus rapidly. UNIFACE expertise
requires programming skills and insight into application development
and support. Experience shows that programmers and system builders who
can write are also ideal candidates for technical author positions.
Requirements: At least two years' writing experience in a highly
technical field, DTP expertise (preferably FrameMaker), WinHelp 4.0,
experience of Windows 95/NT 4.0 and UNIX (Solaris), HTML knowledge,
and a sound understanding of programming techniques. The following
experience would be a great advantage: SGML, one or more programming
languages (C, C++, Java), a working knowledge of one or more SQL-based
DBMSs, networks, and 4GLs (preferably UNIFACE), OO knowledge, CORBA
and DCOM.
