assyst GmbH is looking technical writer for a full-time, permanent, on-site
position in Munich, Germany.
Job Description:
Working within the documentation (and development) team, you will be
responsible for creating end-user guides and reference material for
one of our key products.
You will be responsible for the entire documentation life cycle, including
overseeing production of printed materials and coordinating translations.
You will prepare documentation for release as printed books and pamphlets,
HTML on-line help files, and PDF files.
You will be also involved in the following tasks:
- Attending product development meetings and acting as "user's advocate" for
all relevant aspects of product implementation.
- Helping test software and writing product enhancement requests.
- Helping write and maintain departmental style guides and templates.
Required Skills:
- Ability to write clearly and succinctly about technical concepts
- Demonstrated proficiency in FrameMaker
- Basic knowledge of HTML (WebWorks Publisher) desirable
- Ability to learn and use new computer systems and tools quickly with
minimum guidance
- Either native German + good English skills OR native English speaker +
German skills
- Ability to work closely with members of the development team
- Ability to work well within a writing team, as well as autonomously
- Sense of humor
- Attention to detail and an awareness of pre-requisites of quality
publication
