I tested WebHelp on the following platforms/browsers with these results:

Netscape 4.51 on Windows 98 across a telephone connection- Loaded only
the header of the html page in the right pane, when I click on the
books/topics, it loads the wrong pages showing only the headers. (Called
Blue-Sky - they said to make sure my WHnonIE4.css file was not empty,
did that. They said to run their HTMLpatch.exe, did that. They said to
go through EACH html page and remove a specific Javascript tag, tried
that but did not find the tags. No change in performance of the file.)

Internet Explorer 4.0 on Windows 98 across a telephone connection -
worked fine, took a long time to load.

Netscape 4.51 on Windows 95 across a T1 connection - worked fine, but
took a VERY long time to load.

Netscape 4.04 on Windows 95 across a telephone connection - Closed down
Netscape (illegal error message).

Netscape 4.5 and Internet Explorer 4.0 on Macintosh across a cable
connection - Would not load.

Because I have only two weeks to deliver this help system, and it MUST
work on any system, I'm doing the do-it-yourself HTML route. I've been
given a heads up on ForeHelp Premiere and I'll investigate that for the
next project. (Sure stinks to have to buy yet another $700 product!)

I don't have time to fight with WebHelp right now, but would be happy to
work with you as you go through your project. As with any project, know
your users. The challenge for me is that my client's users are internet
users (real estate), and they could be using Windows, Macintosh, UNIX,
Linux, WebTV with dial up connections, T1 or cable, with any
Java-enabled browser known to man. Tall order.

Let's keep in touch.

Tracy -
Have you checked if you're using the latest version of Netscape? The
version I was using (4.4-something) froze up every time it hit a web
page with Java (including the Webhelp demo page on the Blue Sky site). I
then got the latest version of Netscape (4.5), and it works fine now.
I've done a little experimenting with WebHelp, and am planning on
converting my paper docs to WebHelp. Would you be willing to share any
other tips or experiences with using WebHelp? I've got a good HTML
background, and have used CSS somewhat. Perhaps we can correspond as we
work on this!

Best regards,
