Crystol,

I ran into something similar with a different CAD system. The answer I
was given by the engineer in charge is that plotter drivers break curves
into facets (a process called faceting, oddly enough, which would be a
good word to search on in a help file). They do this because plotters
typically drive a pen in a straight line. This is what makes certain
kinds of drawing files so maddeningly large.

PostScript drivers, of course, handle arcs directly and do not require
faceting.

What you want to look for is some sort of user preference or driver
control that lets you turn faceting off or, if that's not possible,
decrease the segment length to make the result look smoother.
