Imation superdisks have all the same problems as ZIPS,
with comparable costs (I recently priced these disks,
and wondered why I bothered to buy the Imation drive
when I already had a ZIP).

Imation drives are also not as widely used as Zip are,
and the "backward compatiblity" only allows the drive
to read regular 3.5 disks - it does NOT allow floppies
to read the Imation superdisks.

It is also very easy to confuse an Imation Superdisk
with a 3.5 disk, which may also cause problems with
sharing.

I believe the drives themselves are more expensive
(It's been awhile since I've compared costs). I
remember pay around $159 dollars for the Imation
parallel, and around $75 for the Zip.

Also - and this is strictly personal experience based
on a first-generation Imation parallel drive - I had a
lot of difficulty installing it onto my Windows98
machine at home - and still can't configure it to use
my second printer port. Once it is finally installed,
I have to make sure it has power, or else it will kill
my abilities to scan and print (my scanner is a
parallel port model).
