I'm not sure what version of DOORS you used, but I use 8.1 and have
never had trouble with crashing or the Word interface.  We chose not to
go with Rational because of database issues that our IT staff uncovered;
DOORS is also database-driven, but the database is much more secure than
Rational's.

The beauty of DOORS is the DXL language.  You can create your own
functions that allow you to do whatever you want in DOORS.  I even found
