Recommendations for good website shared hosting service?

Hi everyone,

Many of you know that we're replatforming and redesigning TechWhirl.Com.  Part of the process is looking into the idea of moving hosts for the website.  

We're considering moving to a Shared Hosting service with Bluehost and Host Gator on our short list.  The cost of one of these hosts plus a content delivery network should make the site faster and help us reduce our overall costs, but I don't want to sacrifice reliability.  For the record, the email discussion group software will remain on Slicehost (VPS).

Does anyone have any feedback on these two companies in regards to speed and reliability?  Or, is there another reasonably priced host out there that should be on our short list?
