Oh, well.
It helps just to form and ask the question.
I have found some useful docs out there - several cities have IT security policies posted publicly.
And, picking a topic at a time, there's a fair bit of IT security info out there.
It seems that they are less concerned with matching their current environment than getting a feel for what's considered good practice - and maybe, getting a blank-ish slate on which to mark their preferences.

That's ok - a great learning experience. And from what they've told me, these will all be public documents. So they may be useful for others, and I'll be able to use them as samples.

If you search my county government's website for information about horses (which are forbidden, I believe, in the county's parks) you get only a pointer to a document that happens to contain the word "horseshoe," which is part of the name of a location within the county. Searches for some other items bring up acres of raw HTML.

Jay will be hard pressed to come up with anything that's actually better than whatever the customer has now. Fortunately nobody will care, nor will anybody complain to or about him.

Each Policy, AO, and Procedure will be a standalone document.
I am working totally remote, and can't even see their intranet.
So, they will have to figure out findability themselves.

Ah - I need to ask them how AO numbers are determined, and see if we can reserve a block for this project.
Ditto Procedure numbers (or whatever identifiers they use.)
