Hi John,

Whatever you decide, I think it is great that we're talking about our processes. I am always looking for ways to improve mine and I see ideas that I haven't thought of before. And thanks to whomever for the smart pen ideas.

I have a Lenovo Flex which is a 2-1 device and so far I hadn't found any use for the accompanying pen but I might try to use it the next time I do a sme interview and if I do find a way to use it, I might go to the next step.

Please keep letting us know what you learn.

Hi Lin;

I've actually used that system. I know several people I have worked with that love the idea and have used them. The two big drawbacks, as I remember, is that when you either fill up the pen memory or the notebook's pages, in order to continue to use the system, you have to copy the recordings off the pen and onto some other device. This means uncoupling the recording from the written material and thus, dismantling the context of the material. The other is (was) that the written material was not convertible to text and could not be treated as digital material to be cut and pasted wherever you wanted it or to be edited as needed.

I do have to admit, I have not looked at the solution in about five years, so I don't know if my "complaints" have been addressed.

Of course, as always, this is my opinion and, as I said I know more that a couple of people who like the system.

Thanks and take care.

Carter
