Greetings colleagues,

This is a duel posting to my favorite and invaluable listservs.

As a technical writer/instructional developer, I have found belonging to these
two lists, to be an absolutely wonderful experience. The information, discussions,
and resources have been very useful to me.

I have couple of requests/suggestions: make the subject line meaningful. Prior
discussions have shown that many subscribers would like the word "Response" to
appear. I seconded that idea, with additional comment - add a topic indicator.
Also, if you are supplying a resource, or promoting a conference, tool, service
or other information that may be of interest to a potentially limited audience, use
an appropriate indicator.

Ex. Subject: Conference - CANADA
Response - comma usage
Tool - web browser
RFI - Training Budgets (request for information)

Another suggestion is that when responding to a posting, double check who
you are responding to. There seems to be an increase in responses on the lists
that should have gone directly to the originator.

None of this is earth-shattering. But it has been irritating at times to
wade through numerous postings that are of no current interest to me,
when a little effort on the sender's part would have made it so much more
convenient to use the lists.

Regards,

Jules "Life is short. Eat dessert first"
