Frame supports most special characters and symbols, bolding, italics,
and tabs. Why do you need to use macros to convert these features from
Word 5.1 to Frame?

Frame includes filters for MS Word and RTF. You can define formats in
Frame that match the styles used in your Word documents. If you create
a "matching" template in Frame, conversion should be fairly clean. Of
course, some features of Word are not supported in Frame and some
manual cleanup may be necessary.

You write documents in Word and then convert the documents to Frame.
Are you using style guides and templates that facilitate the conversion
process? If style guides and templates are properly implemented,
conversion can be automatic with little or no cleanup required.
