I've been following the thread about double spacing after a full stop
and, although I use a single space myself, I appreciate the
double-spacer's arguments.
So, if you want extra space after a full stop, fine, but I do suggest
using an em space (a space character the width of an upper-case M). This
will make life a little easier when finding and replacing all those
double spaces that have a habbit of turning up between words.
FrameMaker can be set up so that it wont even allow double spaces :-). I
wish I could say the same for PageMaker!
