I've attended the Padgett-Thompson newsletter course that Grant
mentioned. Personally, I didn't get a lot out of it. As is
typical with one-day seminars, they try to cram in as much as they
can in six hours. In fact, the presenter did not get to cover
everything that she was supposed to before the end of the day.

My opinion about the content may not be typical because I'm
strongly self-taught in layout, design, and typography.
Therefore, the majority of the course content was nothing new to
me. Overall, I was disappointed.
